Fred Sininelisk Cultivating a Field
Photographic print. Fred Sininelisk cultivates a field with a hand cultivator pulled by one horse. The man stands in the dusty field in work clothes with hands on the handles of the cultivator looking toward the photographer. The horse, of dark color, stands in profile and wears blinders aside from its harnessing. In the field grows some areas of corn (?) (foreground, mid-ground), but another vine-like crop also grows in bunches along very straight rows. The vine has a very small leaf almost like an English Ivy house plant. Handwritten on the reverse in pencil is: Fred Sininelisk working in Forestville, N.Y. A forested area is in the background and a clear sky above. Adhered to a discolored white board.
