In the foreground, on the right is a split rail fence along a dirt road that leads over a small bridge spanning a creek. The roadway leads on, bordered with birch or ash trees on the left. Additional split rail fence spans the length of the tree-line and pasture on the left. Pastureland surrounds the roadway. In the distance is a farm on the left at the bottom of a hill.
